Tank Town is a former US Army weapons depot converted into a community of survivors, located just south of Vault 60. The town is protected by a vast metal wall made out of recycled vehicles found on the base, with its gate being primarily made out of old pre-war tanks, giving the town its name. It has over 100 residents and sits at an important crossroads within the Big Easy, making it the centre of trade and commerce in the region.
Tank Town was founded soon after the war by a group of survivalists who took refuge in the underground armory within the depot. After several years, the radiation outside had cleared up enough for the people to return to the surface. Over the generations, the survivors reinforced the fences and built new structures out of the defunct military vehicles in and around the base.
